This incredible building with an interesting history has ceased to garner commercial/educational interest since the Andalusia Academy's closure. Therefore, the trust has proposed a housing project which extends the building and respecting its heritage.
Proposals
Extensions and rooftops
80 bedrooms would be housed within the existing building, a western extension and a two storey building with a roof terrace.
Access and facilities
Residents will benefit from bike storage, a roof terrace and high quality community spaces.
Western extension
A view of the Western extension from Redcross Street which will provide increased surveillance of the street below.
Northern roof terrace
St Matthias Park will benefit from increased surveillance and lighting thanks to the roof terrace overlooking the park, which is a hotspot for crime and anti-social behaviour.
